Pick Me Up at Somerset House
Posted by Owen / 7 March 2010

We are very excited to announce that Evening Tweed has been asked to take part in the Pick Me Up illustration fair at Somerset House in April!

The fair will bring together a range of the UK's most exciting graphic artists, including the likes of Nous Vous, Peepshow, Nobrow and Landfill Editions, as well as 25 of the best up-and-coming illustrators. The fair will be presented alongside a lively program of events and activities including an open studio from legendary paper artist Rob Ryan, a pop-up print workshop from Print Club London, and a program of film screenings curated by It’s Nice That.

Pick Me Up will be taking place from 23rd April - 3rd May 2010.

For more details visit the Somerset House website.

D&GArts Campaign
Posted by Owen / 16 February 2010

Last year we at Evening Tweed were asked to take part in Douglas & Gordon's D&GArts campaign. Between us we ended up creating 7 of the 12 illustrations used in the campaign, all of which can now be viewed on the D&G site.

Aschenputtel
Posted by Owen / 20 January 2010

Finally, after many weeks of toiling, Thomas Forsyth and I are excited to present the first photos of our collaboration Aschenputtel. A full selection of these can be seen on my blog. This piece will be exhibited through Designersblock as part of Interiors 2010 at the Birmingham NEC from 24th - 27th January. If you're planning on heading to the exhibition make sure to come over and say hello. For more about this piece see our article on Designersblock. A big thankyou to Emmaus for supplying us with the items for this exhibition, and to Jonathan Green for taking these wonderful photos.

Designersblock: Interiors 2010
Posted by Owen / 7 December 2009

Over the past week I have been busy working with 3D designer and artist Thomas Forsyth on our piece for this year's Interiors 2010 exhibition. Tom was selected by Designersblock to take part in the exhibition, and due to the success of our past collaborations thought it only fitting that we teamed together. For the project we'll be working with Emmaus in Brighton; a fantastic organisation that offers work and community for people who have become socially excluded or homeless.

Interiors 2010 will run from 24th - 27th January at the Birmingham NEC. Keep your eyes peeled for further updates as the project develops.

I'm very excited to say that I've finally made good on a year of promising myself that I'd get an expanded portfolio together. You can see it at www.jezburrows.com.

Seas of Infinity
Posted by Owen / 10 September 2009

I was asked a few months ago to be part of an Artist Series for Engrave Your Book, a company specialising in engraved leather Moleskine covers. My design is inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, using a quote taken from his story The Call of Cthulhu. After many sleepless nights trying to get my head around creating this geometric pattern, I'm very pleased to announce that the cover is now available from the Engrave Your Book shop!
